Reporting to the Manager, the Supervisor, Population & Public Health is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the local delivery of Population & Public Health services by administrating, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness, efficiency and accessibility of the services. Monitors, reviews, and revises policies, procedures and standards, supervises designated staff, orientates, trains and evaluates staff performance and plans for ongoing staff training needs. Collects and analyzes statistics utilizing caseload statistical data and community needs, participates in the budget process, recruitment and selection of staff and consults and liaises with other Population & Public Health staff, other Health Authorities, community groups, and agencies.
Education and Experience
Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BScN) with community health content from a recognized university. Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Four years' recent related experience in nursing including three years in Public Health nursing in the designated clinical area and one year of combined nursing supervisory and nursing leadership experience. Completion of post graduate course work and/or certification applicable to the designated clinical area. Valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to personal vehicle.
