Position Highlights

We are searching for a meticulous individual who is looking to build on their real estate and leasing knowledge to manage Fraser Health’s revenue portfolio as well as craft, amend and execute lease documentations as our Leasing Coordinator.

Build on your education and career experience as you:

  • Conduct the first level of negotiations and lease documentation for Fraser Health. This includes agreements for leasing projects, license agreements, sub-lease agreements and revenue agreements. Provide recommendations to the Senior Manager and/or Director, Real Estate for approval of agreements.
  • Support Real Estate & Leasing Managers, by coordinating and communicating with internal and external lawyers and liaising with real estate brokers, landlords, land surveyors, fee appraisers, project planners, consultants and various user groups.
  • Consult with internal partners, including management and other business lines within the Real Estate services to provide leasing and real estate advice.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining the revenue portfolio at leased and owned sites, including telecommunication sites.
  • Act as a resource for the Fraser Health regarding revenue opportunities by executing and documenting revenue agreements. Develop reports for revenue portfolio forecasts.

We are looking for you to have these professional/technical capabilities:

  • Knowledge of real estate laws and taxes, drafting legal contracts, lease and contract terms
  • Ability to build, modify and interpret lease contracts
  • Knowledge of market survey techniques as it relates to buying, selling or leasing properties
  • Strong proven negotiation skills including the ability to facilitate consensus with various partners
  • Familiarity with construction drawings and construction specifications

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Urban Land Economics and/or related discipline
  • 3 to 5 years’ recent related experience with public and/or private sector commercial real estate projects within a large complex organization
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered

This Regular Full Time opportunity will be based out of Central City, Surrey BC.

Detailed Overview

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:


Responsible for supporting all Real Estate & Leasing Managers on the management of real estate leasing services at Fraser Health, including the creation, modification and execution of legal and internal approval documentation for leased and owned spaces. Conducts the first level negotiation of small lease renewals and revenue lease portfolio. Coordinates and communicates with internal and external legal entities. Extracts, compiles, collates and exchanges real estate and leasing information and works independently with internal and external stakeholders in a manner that promotes positive and respectful relationships.

Responsibilities


  1. Conducts the first level negotiation and documents small dollar value lease renewals including agreements for leasing projects, license agreements, sub-lease agreements and revenue agreements. Provides recommendation to Senior Manager and/or Director, Real Estate for approval of agreements.

  2. Supports Real Estate & Leasing Managers on all aspects of real estate services, including lease contract and internal approval documentation preparation, by coordinating and communicating with internal and external lawyers and liaising with real estate brokers, landlords, land surveyors, fee appraisers, project planners, consultants and various user groups.

  3. Consults with internal stakeholders, including management and other business lines within the Real Estate services to provide leasing and real estate advice.

  4. Responsible for managing and maintaining Facilities Management's revenue portfolio at leased and owned sites, including telecommunication sites. Acts as a resource regarding revenue opportunities by executing and documenting revenue agreements. Develops reports for revenue portfolio forecasts.

  5. Captures financial data to calculate budgets, lease payment and expense projections, utilities usage and forecast lease cost escalations.

  6. Carries out real estate and leasing activities according to established Facilities Management methodologies and systems to ensure successful and coordinated completion of real estate services as part of FM Project Delivery Guidelines principles and processes.

  7. Drafts correspondence, briefing notes, leases, licenses, confidential documents; prepares reports, including graphs, charts and spreadsheets for the Senior Manager, Director, Executive Director, Board or Facilities Committee presentations.

  8. Supports the Senior Manager, Real Estate & Leasing, in the development and maintenance of departmental reports, templates, electronic files on SharePoint, policies and guidelines, and other initiatives that support FM business goals.

  9. Coordination and assists with the transfer of information with other FM Real Estate, Leasing & Property Management business lines.

  10. Represents the Real Estate & Leasing department at a variety of internal and external meetings as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Diploma in Business Administration, Urban Land Economics and/or related discipline, supplemented with three (3) to five (5) years' recent related experience with public and/or private sector commercial real estate projects within a large complex organization, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
